Over 100 representatives from businesses across the UK advertising and marketing services landscape crowded into the IPA on Wednesday for the launch of the UK Advertising Export Group (UKAEG) – a new Government-backed global marketing and business development drive for our industry.
The aim of UKAEG is to increase exports of advertising and marketing services, support the global growth of members and build on our reputation as the global hub for our industry. Following a welcome from our CEO Stephen Woodford where he emphasised the scale of the UK’s world-beating ad industry and how exports have more than doubled since 2010, the IPA’s Janet Hull and Aisling Conlon led guests through the exciting programme of activity planned for the coming year. Plans include a host of trade missions, exhibitions and the opportunity to benefit from Department for International Trade and UK embassy support across the world.
AA Comms Director Matt Bourn gave more detail about how to become part of the group and the many ways that members will benefit from joining – from being part of industry’s online showcase to networking opportunities and being included in the forthcoming Government Export Accelerator. For more information on how to join UKAEG, contact AA Commercial Director Sharon Lloyd Barnes.
