This is done through a network of European trade associations called the Advertising Information Group (AIG), which comes together regularly to discuss issues impacting the European advertising industry and respond to any relevant policy files at the EU level, ranging from issues related to digital advertising and data to sustainability and mandatory information requirements.
Although the UK has now left the European Union, it is important to remain active and aware of the issues in Europe, as the UK will face pressure to align with the EU’s framework and standards where possible, as it looks to continue a healthy trading relationship.
